Best Value

Here And Now (Race 2 no. 3)
This guy has always displayed talent and now seem versatile enough to lead these around or sit off the speed & still give this a big shake.

Bettor Give It (Race 3 no. 8)
Drawn to be coiled up right on the back of leader and favourite Beach Melody. That mare has been known to paddle at the end of middle distance races so Bettor Give It may go past her in the lane.

Ubringthedrinks (Race 4 no. 5)
Blistering beginner who should cross the lot early and have option s once he does. Flying right now and whether he leads or trails he should go close.

Hez The Bart Man (Race 6 no. 1)
This guy has a wicked turn off foot and after drawing the ace alley he’ll be behind the leader or three back the pegs at worst so expect him to dart home and run top 2 at pretty handy odds.

Best Roughie

Algranco Alive(Race 11 no. 2)
This bloke is sizzling off the arm and his modus operandi is to cross those to his inside then look for a trail. He is going OK and this race suits so have something small a win and much more the place.

1,7,8/ 1,7,8/ 1,2,7,8,9,10. $24 get 100%.

Tabcorp Park Trainer Talk – Dean Braun
Dean Braun rates his quality quartet of runners @ Melton Tonight

Best Chance

Our Crime Of Passion (Race 10 no. 3)
"She should be hard to beat. She’s only been beaten the once (in Australia) where she got decked and cut in half. She’s only had the two trials back but she’s a mare with well above average ability so she should be very hard to roll. She’s won seven out of eight for me and sat parked going 1:54(.7) so with no disrespect to the others she looks the horse to beat."

Others

Macha (Race 2 no. 2)
"He’s only had the one trial and he went OK. The fact is he’s very, very raw and he’s got plenty to learn. He’s very green so we won’t be chasing him out of the gate and whatever he does here he’ll improve a lot on. He’s fairly underdone but he goes OK and he shouldn’t be disgraced at his first ever start."

Saucy Vision (Race 6 no. 2)
"We’ve been handing up on him of late but he’s very quick at the start and we can hold the front if we want to.  I’ll leave it up to Nathan (Jack, driver) but I reckon this guy’s nearly at his top now and he’s a very good free rolling horse so you’d reckon he’d nearly be leading. He’s pretty forward - he’s pretty well ready to go."

Highview Ebony (Race 8 no. 6)
"She’s never seen the tapes but she qualified at Melton the other night and she went away really, really good. I would think in what looks not an overly strong race, she would be right there in the finish. Discrimination goes pretty good but he missed away at the trials the other night and Marg Lee’s horse (Keayang Falcon) is also pretty handy but we shouldn’t be too far away."

Speed Maps
Please note that all Speed Maps represent the predicted positions of horses with 800m to run as analysed by Harness Racing Victoria's form experts.
For any Change of Tactics information please follow @HRVInformer on Twitter.

Race 1 – PACE OK EARLY – SLOW ONCE THEY SETTLE DOWN

The first four horses across the front line can all begin quickly but FINE EXCEPTION (1) holds the key. She should hold her rivals as long as she wants to but as a natural hand-up horse may look for a sit on NONE THE WISER (3) or ELEVENTH COMMAND (4). RHINESTONE COWGIRL (7) is one of the tougher runners engaged & may look to park with BLACK COUGAR (6) having one run at them late.

Race 2 – PACE GOOD EARLY – SLOW ONCE THEY SETTLE DOWN

This is another race where a few can burn early on but expect versatile pacer HERE AND NOW (3) to cross those inside him and hold the top once he gets there. BIG BANG PENNY (4) should look for a forward role with EASY LIGHTNING (8), MACHA (2)  & SOTIRIS (6) needing luck in sit-sprint roles.

Race 3 – PACE GOOD EARLY – SLOW ONCE THEY SETTLE DOWN

Yet another quick front line here but BEACH MELODY (1) is the quickest of them all and will have options from her polemarking draw. She is equally good leading or in the trail but expect her to hold her rivals wide here with LADY PENROSE (7) or WATTABOUT A SMILE (5) occupying the chair. BETTOR GIVE IT (8) should get the gun run behind the leader in a race of very little pressure.

Race 4PACE QUICK EARLY – ALSO GOOD THROUGHOUT LAST LAP

UBRINGTHEDRINKS (5) is a blistering beginner who should cross those inside him here with very little trouble. He’ll have options once he finds the front. Expect him to hold the top if the pressure isn’t fierce but OUR FLYIN JAZZ (3) or WATERHORSE (7) may force his hand. BURITON BAILEY (1) should get a soft trip in transit either behind the leader or three-pegs at worst.

Race 5 PACE SOLID EARLY – PRESSURE ON THROUGHOUT

This is a tough race to read but it’s very possible that BACKAS COBBER (3) will find the front if he’s let go early on. LA MOSCA (1), MOTU YOUNG JACOB (5), RETAINED (6) & STONED I AM (7) will all be looking for forward spots with I DIDNT DO IT (11) & MISTER ZION (13) either making mid-race moves or pulling wide for one run at them late along with DON KING (10) & ALEPPO SUNRISE (12).

Race 6 – PACE GOOD EARLY – PRESSURE OVER LAST 600m

SAUCY VISION (2) holds the key. Easily the best beginner on the front line he should lead on his ear but whether he hands up or holds the top will make the race. If he hands up it will be to RENAISSANCE MAN (2). If he leads RENAISSANCE MAN (2) will be parked & the race will have more pressure bringing peg-line runners HEZ THE BART MAN (1) & WASHMEPOCKETS (8) into play.

Race 7 – PACE FAST IN EARLY SECTIONS – GOOD SPEED LAST LAP

Heaps of speed early here but either THE SMILER (3) or GARNET RIVER (4) should find the lead. Expect THE SMILER (3) to hold out the challenges and have options once he does. He almost always tries to hold the top but with pressure from JACCKA CLIVE (7) & CARIBBEAN BLASTER (10) his hand may be forced. MELPARK MAJOR (9) will come with one run & be suited by the genuine pace.

Race 8PACE EVEN EARLY – SLOW ONCE THEY SETTLE DOWN

Three of the eight haven’t started form the strands, making things tough, but INTERROGATOR (1) & MYRNIONG PANORAMA (4) both begin well & should occupy forward spots early. Expect either KEAYANG FALCON (3) or DISCRIMINATION (5) to work their way to the lead with HIGHVIEW EBONY (6) handy & DANCING LEGACY (8) coming with one run late.

Race 9 – PACE OK EARLY – SLOW ONE THEY SETTLE DOWN

IM DEMIMONDAINE (1) has begun swiftly at her past two standing start runs and should hold her rivals early with a similar beginning. She isn’t overly tough so may look for a trail from a horse like MALLEE TRAPPER (3) but FAMILY PACO (4), OURLITTLELIL (7) & ARCTIC WOLF (8) will all look for forward spots. TAWONGA SOUTH (11) is tough & should find the breeze or lead the three-wide line.

Race 10 – PACE QUICK EARLY – SLOW ONCE THEY SETTLE DOWN

Every runner bar LIVIA DE GEROLSTEIN (6) gets out well here with any of ZOOMBA (1), SAMANTHA SPARKLE (2) & IGNORANCE IS BLISS (4) all capable of leading early on. Whoever does find the top should hand the ascendancy to hot-pot OUR CRIME OF PASSION (3) with LUCYS PENNY (7) likely to push forward and find the breeze in the early/middle stages of the race.

Race 11 – PACE EVEN EARLY – SLOW ONCE THEY SETTLE DOWN

ALGRANCO ALIVE (2) possesses excellent early toe and should easily cross to the top before immediately looking for a trail. WELL HELLO DOLLY (3) looks most likely to oblige before holding the top or once again handing up the lead.  Expect her to keep the front with BLISSFULL MOOD (6) & WINJAMMER (8) the pressure horses & SUMMER ACE (9) the major sit-sprint threat.

Race 12 – PACE QUICK EARLY – PRESSURE THROUGH LAST LAP

Most horses drawn the front line have early speed in this but BACKINA LIFETIME (3) grew wings at the start last time out and may cross them all. LOVEYOUGOODBOY (2), MICHAEL THOMAS (5) & ME AN KEL (11) should all ensure an even tempo with one of them likely to take the lead in the early/middle stages. ALABAMA SKEETA (10) & LIGHTNING JOY (12) should come with one run late.

BLACK BOOKERS – (Racing Tonight)

Easy Lightning (Race 2 no. 8)
This guy cost himself victory first up at Bendigo last Saturday night by going bush on the turn before eventually balancing up in the straight to go under narrowly behind Nuggets Brother.
He has a tricky gate tonight and faces the Dean Braun-prepared Macha, but he is quite smart and should run well second up. Click here to view his most recent run.

BLACK BOOKERS – Kilmore Thursday Night

Lady Patti
Got into strife first up at Yarra Valley earlier this month but showed her true talent with a slashing second to Glenferrie Lady at Kilmore last night where she charged home along the pegs to go down narrowly. She is beautifully-bred and with natural improvement expect this filly to win plenty of races this campaign. Click here to view the run.

STAR TRIALLERS – (Racing Tonight)

Macha (Race 2 no. 2)
Dean Braun-prepared son of Mach Three who shaped up nicely in a recent Ballarat trial where he finished 5m behind stable mate Major Steppe in nice fractions.
He draws to advantage and is sure to be mighty hard to beat on debut for the astute mentor.

Beach Melody (Race 3 no. 1)
Top class mare who resumes tonight off the back of an impressive Shepparton trial success over Ti Vogliobene where she swept home from near last on the turn.
She should have little trouble holding the lead from the ace alley and will take catching over the sprint trip first up.

I Didnt Do It (Race 5 no. 11)
Star trotter who warmed up for his first run in six weeks with a solid trial second to smart mare Our Crime Of Passion at Melton last Monday night beaten a head in a last quarter of 27.7.
He thrives under the mobile conditions and is sure to take beating fresh.

Our Crime Of Passion (Race 10 no. 3)
Top quality mare for Dean Braun who won 7 of her 8 outings for the gun trainer last season and limbered up for this assignment with an easy trial win at Melton last Monday night.
She draws to have a crack for the lead, will more than likely get it and from there her opposition will struggle to mow her down.
