Good Form Grampians - Tuesday Trots

The Game Plan for Ararat – with Michael Polster (@MickPolster)

Odds-on Punters

Things get a little tricky later on tonight but for those who don’t mind taking the short odds then the early part of the programme is for you. Back these straight out, or take them all-up if you’re feeling more bullish.

Minti Choice (Race 1 no. 11) ($1.40)

This guy was only placed twice from his ten outings last season but more often than not he mixed it with some smart customers.  He resumed from a break at Yarra Valley last week and ran an excellent third to Cullen Regent where he ran home well at the end of a 58.2 final half.  The draw is not ideal but he is clearly the best horse in the race and should be winning with ordinary luck.

In The Frame Lombo (Race 3 no. 7) $(1.70)

Had a reasonable 3YO season and he resumes tonight with Gavin Lang in the sulky off the back of an easy trial success on this circuit just over three weeks ago.  He has blinding gate speed when stoked up and it wouldn’t surprise to see him spear out, get the lead and from there be nigh on impossible to gun down first up.

Value Bets

If you are in search of a bit of value then the latter half of tonight’s card looks attractive and I’ve found two to back each way on a 1 x 3 basis that will give you a sight.

Lombo Blu Blood (Race 5 no. 3) ($3)

Never a factor at Melton last Friday night from a poor draw but he looks much better suited tonight as he looks certain to get the lead, which is a position he relishes. He can be a little hard to catch but the short course is in his favour and with a lack of any real pressure expect him to be extremely hard to cut down.

Torque Artraction (Race 7 no. 4) ($4)

She has been racing in much stronger races than this of late behind quality mares Pembrook Caesar and Our Crime Of Passion and will love the drop in class. She gets the opportunity to race in a forward position tonight, possibly even the lead, and has a great chance at getting back into the winners list.

Quaddies (x2)

4/ 1,3,4,5,6/ 1,6,10/ 4,6,10.  $50 gets you 111.11%
1,5,8/ 1,3,4,5,6/ 1,6,10/ 4,6,10.  $50 gets you 37.03%

STAR TRIALLERS – (Racing Tonight)

In The Frame Lombo (Race 3 no. 7) ($1.70)
Resumes from a break tonight off the back of an easy Stawell trial success late last month where he won by 20m and ripped home in 28.3. Gavin Lang takes the drive on him tonight and although he draws widely he does have plenty of gate speed to put himself into a winning position.

BLACK BOOKERS – (Cobram Yesterday)

Nowitzki
Resumed from a spell and after getting back in the run with a solid tempo set up front he stormed home to win in a new PB of 1:57.3. He showed plenty of talent last season and looks set for a bumper campaign this term going on what he produced first up yesterday. Click here to view the run.

Gangster Boy
Can be a little hard to catch on occasions but showed what he can do when he is on song with a super win yesterday after doing all the work in the run. He has always shown something and if he can put together similar performances on a regular basis then he will be winning plenty more this time in.
