Good Form Preview - Wednesday @ Maryborough

The Game Plan for Maryborough – with Jason Bonnington (@jasonbonnington)

Best Bet

Fairest One Youare (Race 7 no. 4) $2
Put plainly, this mare loves to lead and always grows the proverbial leg when able to find the front. Barring accidents, she’ll get to the top soon after the start here and with no genuine enforcer to break her rhythm from the breeze I can see her leading this lot a merry dance today.

Best Roughie

The Unionist (Race 7 no. 9) $16
Somewhat surprisingly, the Best Roughie today comes up in the same race as the Best Bet but this guy, who was backed for a stack second-up and then unwanted in betting last start, is talented and did charge home when seeing daylight at Geelong. Perhaps throw him into multiples with Fairest One You are (4) today.

The Money Races

Race 6

Brite Spark Lombo (1) and Glenferrie College (9) are both pretty promising three-year-olds with a handy class advantage over their rivals here today. I also love isolating two horses to rove around in exotic wagers when one is likely to lead and one is doing the chasing as should happen here. Play a few ways as outlined below and hope that you get a result.

1,9/ 1,9/ 3,5,8. $50 gets 833.33%.
1,9/ 1,9/ 4,6,7. $20 gets 333.33%.
1,9/ 3,5,8/ 1,9. $20 gets 333.33%.
1,9/ 4,6,7/ 1,9. $10 gets 166.67%.

Race 8

In my opinion it would be a a massive shock if Franco Templar (4) and Keeper Of The Fire (7) don’t run one-two here so just take the Quinella or play as I’m playing, with a skinny Trifecta. The best thing about this bet is that Keeper Of The Fire (7) may be very short but Franco Templar (4) can definitely beat him if he finds the front.
4,7/ 4,7/ 1,3,5,8. $100 gets 1250%.

Black Booker (Racing Today)

Simply Radical (Race 6 no. 7) $14
This guy is a Peter Tonkin-trained 3YO who finally brought his trial form to the races when rattling home after acceptances behind Fearless Courage at Stawell. This race represents another serious step up in grade for him but he’s not without an Each Way hope at double-figure odds. Click here to view the run.
