Good Form Preview - Wednesday Night at Ararat

THE GAME PLAN for Ararat – with Michael Polster (@mickpolster)

Best Bets

Sir Pegasus (Race 1 no. 2) $2.10
Wasn’t all that far from Waikare Aristocrat at Melton last Friday night in a much stronger race than this and he did look impressive winning at Charlton prior from the breeze when much too classy for Jack Castleton.  He looks beautifully placed off the front line courtesy of the claim for Haydon Gray, looks a very good chance of getting the lead and from there his rivals will have a devil of a time mowing him down.

Redy To Race (Race 3 no. 7) $2.70
Well above average young trotter with David Van Ryn who has had an extensive trial campaign the past month to prepare him for this assignment and he looks ready to produce the goods first up after a dominant Bendigo workout 9 days ago where he won by panels of fencing.  He draws widely and takes on some handy ones but I think he will be too good with ordinary luck in running.

Four Grinners (Race 7 no. 4) $2.10
He is the only runner for John Justice tonight and John must give him a big chance of success first up as he doesn’t make the trip to Ararat very often.  He resumes from a break tonight off the back of a solid Melton trial 16 days ago and with the lead likely to be his from the handy gate he is going to take some catching around this circuit over the short course.

Quaddie
1,4,7,8,11/ 1,3,4,8/ 3,4,5,6,8/ 4.  $50 gets you 50%
1,4,7,8,11/ 1,3,4,8/ 3,4,5,6,8/ 7,9,11.  $50 gets you 16.66%

STAR TRIALLERS

My Mach Scooter (Race 2 no. 10) $2.50
Talented Mick Stanley-trained youngster who got it wrong at Cranbourne last time and was stood down to trial, which he did in fine style at Melton 8 days ago where he was successful in a very slick 1:57.1 and if he reproduces that kind of run here tonight they won’t beat him.

Redy To Race (Race 3 no. 7) $2.70
This guy was one of our better youngsters last season, winning 2 of his 10 outings and he resumes from a break tonight off the back of a dominant trial victory at Bendigo 9 days ago by a big space so expect him to be mighty hard to roll first up.
