Good Form Preview - Thursday at Maryborough

THE GAME PLAN for Maryborough – with Michael Polster (@mickpolster)

BEST BETS/ALL UP

The Fire Within (Race 4 no. 3) $2.50
This guy looked really good on debut at Melton last Sunday when victorious in 1:56.0 from the front end where he held off a smart one in Rule Like A King at the end of a 27.7 final quarter and with that run sure to benefit him I think he can continue on his winning way, despite the fact his main danger has drawn inside him.

Johnny Quid (Race 5 no. 6) $2.20
Resumed from a spell at Geelong back in early February with a strong victory over Dodge The Bullet in slick time and was put away after that, but he has been tuned up for this with a trial victory at Melton 16 days ago from behind the strands and with a question mark over Quadentate’s staying ability watch for Haydon Gray to make it a genuinely run affair.

*You can back both horses individually if you like but I’m going to play a little harder and take them in an all up for $100.

THE MONEY RACES
Similar to last night’s program at Bendigo today’s card is a little bit tricky, but I’ve come up with Races 4,5 and 7 as the best ones to attack with Trifectas my weapon of choice.  I’ve outlined the bets below and I’m going to spend $300, which along with my all up and Quaddie will take my total outlay for the day to $500.  Here we go!

Race 4
3/ 1/ 4,5,8,9,12.  $55 gets you 1100%
3/ 4,5,9,12/ 1.  $20 gets you 500%
1/ 3/ 4,5,8,9,12.  $25 gets you 500%

Race 5
6/ 1,8/ 1,8.  $30 gets you 1500%
6/ 1,8/ 2,3,7,10,11.  $30 gets you 300%
6/ 2,3,7,10,11/ 1,8.  $10 gets you 100%
1,8/ 6/ 1,8.  $10 gets you 500%
1,8/ 6/ 2,3,7,10,11.  $20 gets you 200%

Race 7
Boxed 1,2,7,8,9.  $60 gets you 100%
1,9 Roving Bankers with 2,7,8.  $40 gets you 222.22%

QUADDIES X2 $100 Spend
3/ 6/ 6,7/ 1,2,7,8,9.  $40 gets you 400%
1,3/ 1,6,8/ 6,7/ 1,2,7,8,9.  $60 gets you 100%

STAR TRIALLERS

Im Tilly Devine (Race 2 no. 5) $2.70
Former NSW mare now under the care of Marnie Bibby and she should run well in this moderate affair going on her trial success on this track 11 days ago where she slipped home in 58.3.

Johnny Quid (Race 5 no. 6) $2.20
This guy produced a big effort to win at his latest start at Geelong a few months ago and was tuned up for this assignment with an easy trial victory at Melton 16 days ago from behind the strands.  Expect Haydon Gray to put him into the contest early and use his staying prowess.

BLACK BOOKERS – Bendigo Last Night

Loveyougoodboy
This guy can be a little risky on occasions but it was no fault of his when decked shortly after the start and after spotting his rivals a goodly margin he tacked on, followed inside runs and just failed to mow down Maoris Pocket in what was an amazing performance.  He had won nicely prior to that effort and will be hard to beat in whatever he contests next.

Revivalist
I’ll be honest, I am talking through my kick here as I was on her last night and it was a tragedy to see her travel so well in between runners approaching the turn before striking trouble and galloping out the back in the race won by Secret Ruby.  She may not have trouble the winner but would’ve been in the finish for sure and I think she is worth following up on when she steps out next.
