Good Form Preview - Monday @ Yarra Valley

The Game Plan for Yarra Valley – with Jason Bonnington (@jasonbonnington)
There’s not one likely favourite I’d be comfortable launching into on today’s program, so basically, I’m not going to. Rather, I’ve picked out one value runner, a couple of roughies, a Money Race and a Quad as the best way to turn a profit and kick off our week in style. Here goes…

Best Value
Real Grit (Race 6 no. 7) $26 ($25 Each Way)
I do fell a bit cheeky sticking the $26 price tag next to this bloke’s name because if he wasn’t the 1st Emergency in this race he’d be a fraction of that price. The draw is obviously awkward for him but if you’re getting $5 then have an Each Way lash because he has both class and fitness on almost all of his rivals here today and we may get a price because he wasn’t in the original field.

Best Roughies
Peace Of Magic (Race 3 no. 11) $12 ($10 by $15)
This bloke is obviously no star but he did run home resolutely from the rear last start and with the promise of some early speed in this particularly moderate affair he is worth an Each Way wager @ double figure odds.

American Para (Race 8 no. 7) $26 ($25 Place)
The key here is that this mare is having her first run for the on-fire Lisa & David Miles stable today. Unfortunately she meets a couple of handy ones in Jazzy Malone (8) & Rubys Bad Boy (9) but if the price is right I’m still willing to back this bloke, if only for a Place.

The Money Race – Race 7
Illawong Geraldine (1) & Classy Western (12) fought out by far the best preliminary for this race at Cranbourne eight days back and should do so again despite their vastly disparate draws. I think they’ll run one-two but at worst they’ll finish one-three for mine so play some First 4’s & hope for a windfall result.

1,12/ 1,12/ 5,9,10/ 3,4,5,6,9,10,11. $60 gets 166.67%
1,12/ 5,9,10/ 1,12/ 3,4,5,6,9,10,11. $40 gets 111.11%

Quaddie
1,2,3,4,6,7,9/ 2,3,4,5,8,10/ 1,2,7,8/ 1,12. $100 gets 29.76%

Star Trialler (Racing Today)

Glenferrie Typhoon (Race 2 no. 1) $1.80
A blueblood half-brother to Cyclone U Bolt, this guy knocked over some handy types winning a Tabcorp Park trial last Monday and draws to win on debut if he does everything right after the start.
