Good Form Preview - Wednesday Night at Echuca

THE GAME PLAN for Echuca – with Michael Polster (@mickpolster)

Tonight’s meeting is one of the most open I can remember assessing and it won’t be easy to turn a profit but there should be some value on offer and I’ve come up with some horses to back on an each way basis at juicy odds plus I’m going VERY wide in the Quaddie in the hope a roughie or two wins.  Here we go!

VALUE BETS

Fictional Hero (Race 2 no. 5) $4.50    $15 win x $35 place
It is hard to get enthused about a horse who has had 31 starts and is yet to register a win but this bloke wasn’t too bad behind With Gusto at Bendigo last start and with the big drop in grade I think he has a terrific chance of busting his maiden.

Satisfied Grin (Race 3 no. 9) $4                        $15 win x $35 place
The back row draw isn’t ideal for him, especially around Echuca but I think there will be some speed in the early stages which will bring him right into calculations.  If he runs home like he did at Maryborough two back when third to the smart Baccarat they will have trouble holding him out.

Mosquito Zephyr (Race 4 no. 1) $21  $15 win x $35 place
Her form of late isn’t anything to write home about but she looks well placed tonight from the pole draw as she is a great chance of trailing the leader, which is a position she was in when victorious here back in late January.

Our Bally Beauty (Race 4 no. 4) $13   $15 win x $35 place
This mare hasn’t had much go her way since winning on this track in fine style six runs ago and it looks like she will receive a reasonable run just off the pace so I think she is worthy of a wager each way at the generous odds quoted.

Illawong Fantasia (Race 6 no. 1) $13  $15 win x $35 place
Comes off some handy runs through a 3C0 series at Melton from poor draws but tonight she has the ace alley at her disposal and it looks like she will end up behind likely leader Gohardorgohome, or at worst three-back the pegs, so she should receive every chance.

Statelyness (Race 7 no. 2) $15 $15 win x $35 place
Speedy beginner who should find the pegs first before more than likely handing the lead up to Twindet and with a cheap run just off the pace she can be dangerous via the passing lane at nice odds once heads turn for home.

QUADDIE
1,2,3,4,5,9,10/ 1,3,6/ 1,4,5,7,8,10/ 2,4,5,6,8,9,10.  $100 gets you 11.33%
