Good Form Preview - Monday @ Horsham

The Game Plan for Horsham – with Jason Bonnington (@jasonbonnington)
As a punter, it’s always hard to put all – or in this case most – of your eggs in one basket. As a breed, we generally enjoy having a few completely separate investments going so that if one fails we’ve got something to fall back on. But in punting, as in life, you don’t always get what you want, and today we’ll have half of our daily outlay on Willow Robyn winning the first via a straight out Win bet and the Money Race. If he lobs we should end up ahead regardless of what else happens but if he loses all the weight will shift to our Best Value, Best Roughie and wide Quaddie investments.

Best Bet ($50 Win)
Willow Robyn (Race 1 no. 8) $2.75
It’s not ideal that there are three Manning-trained runners in this race or that Kerryn will be steering Confusion Reigns (3) but no matter which way I look at this race I just think the above pacer will be too classy for sure. He has led to win his past couple but did storm home from well back at his first Victorian start and in this small field he can lob anywhere and still run past them in the lane.

Best Value ($10 x $15)
Pacquiao (Race 5 no. 5) $6
There’s no doubt this bloke can mix and match his form but he’s been a massive improver since joining Michelle Manning and if he’s driven the way he needs to be driven - with raw aggression – than he’s a great chance of out-staying his rivals at pretty juicy odds.

Best Roughie ($5 x $20)
Ima Village Casper (Race 3 no. 7) $10
We have yet another small field here, in fact this one is so small there’ll only be two place dividends, but if this guy can take advantage of a strong likely speed and replicate his last start silver medal in slightly better class then they’ll know he’s in the race at very pleasing odds.

The Money Race – Race 1 (Flexi First 4’s for $100)
As mentioned above, I’m placing a lot of faith in Willow Robyn (8) here and expecting that if he gets the job done the rest will take care of itself.

8/ 1,3/ 1,3,5,7/ 1,3,5,7. $60 gets 500%
8/ 1,3/ 1,3,5,7/ 2,4. $12 gets 100%
8/ 5,7/ 1,3,5,7/ 1,3,5,7. $24 gets 200%
8/ 5,7/ 1,3,5,7/ 2,4. $4 gets 33.33%

The Quads (x3)
1,6,7,9,10,11/ 1,2,5/ 8/ 1,2,4,6,7,10. $54 gets 50%
1,6,7,9,10,11/ 1,2,5/ 3,4,8/ 1,2,4,6,7, 10. $32.50 gets 10.03%
1,6,7,9,10,11/ 4,6,7,8/ 8/ 1,2,4,6,7,10. $13.50 gets 9.38%
