Good Form Preview - Wednesday @ Shepparton

The Game Plan for Shepparton – with Jason Bonnington (@jasonbonnington)
First of all, I’d like to welcome Good Form’s brand new Guru Andrew Evans, who will be delivering his very first Game Plan below. Andrew is a font of trots knowledge and he’ll only be adding to the winners available via this forum. Fortunately for him he may also have stumbled upon a pretty juicy card to kick off his Good Form career! In all, I’m attacking one Best Bet, three at a price, two Money Races and some Quads. We all know I love Shepparton and hopefully after tonight we all feel good about the Quest Racing Complex track.

Best Bet ($40 Win)
Sword And Pistol (Race 4 no. 7) $2.20
Last time he met a vaguely similar field to the one he meets tonight, this bloke won by 18m running away. He should really just keep rolling forward tonight and if he bullies his way to the lead at some stage with champion reinsman Chris Alford in the cart, I’d be shocked to see him get rolled

Best Value/Roughies ($5 x $15)
Fergus Mactavish (Race 5 no. 8) $13
This guy was absolutely super in both heat and final of a strong C1 series at this course recently and looks ideally suited tonight. The main thing playing in his favour here is that with fast beginners Jetts Afella (1) and Mister Desirable (4) both engaged along with Hoppyjoe (6) there should be plenty of early heat on and if it turns into a staying test he’ll be winning for mine.

Sans Frontiere (Race 6 no. 6) $11
A brilliant beginner from the standing start, this guy should ping the tapes tonight and if he can head them off over the 2190m trip he should prove tough to catch. The appointment of Rebecca Bartley is also a big plus here so the $11 looks pretty good.

Just Call Me Earl (Race 6 no. 9) $13
On pure talent, this guy is probably the most gifted trotter engaged here and after showing some really encouraging signs when storming home behind Miss Eliza last time out (when off 40m) he too looks very well suited tonight.

The Money Races
The three big guns here are clearly Chevals Racer (5), Kyvalley Rancher (8) and Did I Imagine That (9). There’s probably not a stack between them on ability but given he’ll almost certainly find the front Chevals Racer (5) deserves to be the anchor for our Tricks.

Race 3 (Flexi Trifectas for a $50 outlay)

5/ 8,9/ 8,9. $20 gets 1000%
5/ 8,9/ 1,2,4. $15 gets 250%
8,9/ 5/ 8,9. $10 gets 500%
8,9/ 5/ 1,2,4. $5 gets 83.33%

Race 7 (Flexi Trifectas for a $50 outlay)
This bet is quite risky as it is a talented field but I just suspect that comeback kid Post It Away (2) and one of my personal favourites Indi Bapu (3) should be fighting it out and even if they don’t one of them should win.

2,3/ 2,3/ 1,4,5,6,11. $20 gets 200%
2,3/ 1,4,5,6,11/ 2,3. $10 gets 100%
2,3/ 1,4,5,6,11/ 1,4,5,6,11. $20 gets 50%

Quaddies (x3)
7/ 1,4,8,9/ 6,7,8,9,10/ 2,3. $40 gets 100%
8/ 1,4,8,9/ 6,7,8,9,10/ 2,3. $20 gets 50%
4,7,8/ 1,4,8,9/ 6,7,8,9,10/ 2,3,5,6. $40 gets 16.67%

The Game Plan for Shepparton – with Andrew Evans (@AndrewEvansHRV)
Best Bet
Did I Imagine That (Race 3 no. 9) $4.50 ($50 Win).
This guy was most impressive breaking through for his first win at Maryborough last start where he did everything right trailing the leader before peeling out on the home turn and racing clear. The second row makes it a tougher assignment here but the small field is in his favour and he is great value at $4.50.

Best Roughies
Kains Boy (Race 3 no. 6) $17 ($10 x $40).
This guy didn’t have a lot of luck last time where he was forced wide, prior to that he produced some encouraging on-speed performances where he showed good early toe. In the small field tonight he should settle somewhere on the speed & at the odds of $17 looks great value.

Fergus Mactavish (Race 5 no. 8) $13 ($20 x $30).
This bloke has produced some very respectable runs at his past couple where he has worked hard and still been there at the business end. The draw creates a few headaches as he isn’t blessed with a great sprint but if things go his way expect him to run a good race in a truly run affair.
The Money Race (Flexi Trifectas for a $50 outlay)
Race 4
Sword and Pistol (7) was a dominant winner after working to the lead last start. I think he can work into a striking position here in the small field without doing much work and be winning again. The clear second pick is Our Warwick Lad (8) who is dropping in class so I have worked some First 4’s around these two in the small field.

7/ 8/ 4,5,6/ 3,4,5,6 $27 gets 300%
7/ 4,5,6/ 8/ 3,4,5,6 $ 14 gets 156%
8/ 7/ 4,5,6/ 3,4,5,6 $9 gets 100%

Quaddies (x4)
7/ 1,8,9/ 4,6,8,9,10/ 3. $30 gets 200%
7/ 1,8,9/ 4,6,8,9,10/ 2,4,5,11. $45 gets 75%
8/ 1,8,9/ 4,6,8,9,10/ 3. $10 gets 66.66%
8/ 1,8,9/ 4,6,8,9,10/ 2,4,5,11. $15 gets 25%.
