This is something of a follow-up job given I backed this guy last time and he ran a pretty good race from the head of affairs. The key factor for him here will be holding Stonethachristian (2) out early because if he leads around this very tight top-end biased circuit and goes as well as he did when leading everywhere but the post at Shepparton three starts back he should be winning tonight.

 

Best Roughie ($10 x $40)

Dance With Mia (Race 5 no. 1) $11

Almost every horse engaged here can win with the right run and in such an even field, the polemarking draw will be crucial. Also critical to this mare’s chances are the fact that she has the gate speed to lead early and then hand up if she so chooses so the double-figure quote will be juicy if we get it.

 

The Money Races

Race 4

As mentioned above, I’m pretty keen on Attack On Command (1) here and even if he does get rolled, I think he’ll still cling on for second. There are also limited hopes to fill the other places on the podium so this looks a nice race to get us some easy folding. Take the Trifectas below for 1 $50 outlay.

Race 7

Timeseel (1) does look to have this race at his mercy from the polemarking draw but I’ve got plenty of respect for Stormed Out (4) who hasn’t been far away in better races than this at his past two starts. Both horse will need to finish on the podium for us to jag a result but there’s enough potential for value around them to make this a nice Money Race so take the tricks below and half-hope for a minor upset of sorts.

This mare is drawn nicely here inside the back row and should hold the back of the one drawn in front of her who is the likely leader. She produces her best when she is saved up for one run and in a race that doesn’t have a lot of depth she should get conditions to suit on this tight on-pace favoured circuit.

(Race 7 No 7 Lycoming Racer ) ($50 Place)  $31

This bloke had been performing pretty poorly leading up to his last run at Shepparton but he turned it around with a much improved run with little luck behind some inform horses. He has enough speed to hold the back of short priced favourite TIMESEEL and whilst he will find it very hard to beat him he looks great value to run a place.
