Good Form Preview - Wednesday Night @ Bendigo

The Game Plan for Bendigo – with Jason Bonnington (@jasonbonnington)
Wow! Meetings simply do not get any trickier than tonight’s Bendigo card. As a result I’m playing very close to home and throwing my support behind horse I really like and who I’ve been following for a pretty long time. Below you will find 1 Best Bet, 1 Best Value Bet & 1 Best Roughie and they’re all horses I feel I can trust. In a rare move, I’ve even slashed my Quaddie outlay by half so tread warily here, but if one of our better priced commodities lobs we’ll definitely end up in an OK place.

Best Bet ($50 Each Way)
Lonesome Kid (Race 7 no. 6) $7
If you’re only having one bet all night then place it on this guy. He fairly flew in both heat and final of a very similar series to this one before beating Lite Jagermeister at Melton then losing to that horse in what was a much better run than it looked last start. I’m very keen here so make sure you have something on.

Best Value ($25 Each Way)
Cool Machrista (Race 1 no. 11) $4.50
This mare rarely runs a bad race, can do a bit of work in transit and was actually pretty good in a much, much stronger race than this last time out. The second line draw is awkward but this is a race where the class will rise to the top so back her Each Way to kick off the card.

Best Roughie ($15 x $25)
Freemason (Race 4 no. 3) $15
I was really impressed with this bloke’s effort last start when coming with one sustained run from well back in the field and given he rolled Astronaut & co from the top end four starts back and looks some chance of lobbing the front tonight I’m happy to back him Each Way even with only two place dividends up for grabs.

The Quad ($50 outlay)
3,6/ 2,3,4,7,9/ 2,3,4,5,8,10,11,13/ 4,6,9. $50 gets 20.83%

The Game Plan for Bendigo with Andrew Evans (@AndrewEvansHRV).
Best Value

(Race 8 No 3 Illawong Bill)  ($50W/$50P) $10
I think this bloke should be able to find the lead here in a race that doesn’t have a lot of depth. He performed solidly at his first run back where he showed plenty of early speed but just couldn’t quite get across to the pegs. He ended up sitting one out one back and stuck on well in the lane without threatening in a much stronger race.

Quaddies x4
6/ 4,7,9/ 4,5,8,11/ 2,4,6,9 $50 gets 104.17%
4/ 4,7,9/ 4,5,8,11/ 2,4,6,9 $25 gets 52.08%
6/ 1,3,6/ 4,5,8,11/ 2,4,6,9 $16.50 gets 34.38%
4/ 1,3,6/ 4,5,8,11/ 2,4,6,9 $8.50 gets 17.71%

Star Trialler (Racing Today)
Basil Knight (Race 2 no. 8) $4.75

(2190m/2:07.4 – 61.4 – 30.2/ 4m x 4m/ Sunset Truscott 2nd)

We found this fella as a Star Trialler prior to his first up attempt but after stepping cleanly and surging to the front he galloped and was tailed off from there. He returns to the mobile tonight but has drawn awkwardly inside the second row. If he stays in gait and finds the right luck in running then he will be a threat at some stage in an even race.
