Good Form Preview - Manic Monday @ Maryborough

The Game Plan for Maryborough – with Jason Bonnington (@jasonbonnington)

I could hardly think of a better way to kick off Ballarat Cup week than today’s Maryborough card, which is highlighted by two outstanding Central Vic Championship finals for the pacers and the trotters and a super support card where we should be able to jag a tidy result. You could probably go hog-wild today but I’m sticking w/ 1 Best Bet, 2 Value Bets, 1 Best Roughie plus a Money race and some Quads.

Best Bet ($50 Win)
Franco Jackson (Race 3 no. 2) $3.50
This bloke is no superstar nut he really gets conditions to suit today. A brilliant beginner from the mobile start, he should be in front within 30m of the start and w/ no obvious enforcer engaged to push him harder than Kate Gath wants to go I think he’ll  pinch a breather and he’ll pinch the race.

Best Value ($25 Each Way)
Ginger Bliss (Race 6 no. 6) $10
I can guarantee this bloke will not be qt $10 here but regardless of that I’m happy to back him at a much, much shorter quote. Put simply, he is one of Australia’s fastest beginners and if he finds the front within 100m of the start his class, which was highlighted with an excellent recent trial win will be the difference here.

Bushrod (Race 7 no. 8) $5.50
This bloke was in sensational nick prior to everything going wrong last time out. If he returns to the form which saw him go gangbusters in his first three Aussie starts he can lead these around and prove a shade and give them something to catch.

Best Roughie ($10 x $15)
Asdenro (Race 8 no. 5) $11
Despite his maiden status, this bloke wasn’t a million miles away from Victoria’s best juvenile trotters last term and after trialling successfully at this track 8 days back he’s well worth a wager if anything close to his Herald Sun odds.

The Money Race – Race 5 (Flexi Trifectas for $50)

This will be a super race to watch and I think the three big guns in Unico Crown (2), The Boss Man (3) and Quite A Moment (12) will fight things out for sure.
2,3,12/ 2,3,12/ 2,3,4,5,9,12. $38 gets 158.33%
2,3,12/ 2,3,12/ 1,6,10,11. $12 gets 50%

The Quads (x4)
3,7/ 2,3,12/ 6/ 7,8. $30 gets 250%
3,7/ 2,3,12/ 6/ 3,6,10. $18 gets 100%
3,7/ 2,3,12/ 1,2,5,8,9/ 7,8. $60 gets 100%
3,7/ 2,3,12/ 1,2,5,8,9/ 3,6,10. $17 gets 18.89%
