Good Form Preview - Thursday @ Bray Raceway

The Game Plan for Ballarat – with Jason Bonnington (@jasonbonnington)
It’s a tricky night at Bray Raceway tonight but after the frustration of decimated meetings at Charlton and Yarra Valley of late it’s just nice to see some full fields going around. I’m experiencing a troubling love affair with Jaccka Murphy and the entire Alison Chisholm team at the minute so I’ll be rapt if he can lob in the last but essentially I think our best bets will come via the two Money Races outlined below.

Best Bet ($25 Win)
Jaccka Murphy (Race 7 no. 1) $3.20

There’ll be pressure applied tonight, particularly from Garabaldi Union (4) but this guy will lead on his ear and if replicates his efforts at Terang two starts back it will take a pretty big effort to see him get run down.

Best Value ($25 Each Way)
Seven Nations (Race 5 no. 1) $6

Manningham Park (2) is the key to this race as he loves to spear off the arm and run as fast as he can from there onwards so the place to be should be up along the fence. The pacer above has been ticking along quite nicely of late and at juicy odds here he’ll only need some clear running late to figure in the money.
Penny Union (Race 5 no. 8) $8

This mare will likely race three back the inside but she came along in leaps and bounds last campaign, has trialled well for her return and should benefit greatly from both the services of Greg Sugars and the very soft trip she’ll enjoy in transit here.

Best Roughie ($5 x $20)
Arctic Wolf (Race 1 no. 1) $11

This wager is pretty speculative but my speed map tells me that Gazoline (2) will lead on his ear here and run along at pace like usual so if my bloke can hold his back and return to his form of three runs back then the double figure quote id good enough for me.
The Money Races (Flexi Trifectas for $50)

Race 2
Young Modern (1) is a star on the rise who should win this race for fun. Likewise, Racer (2) is a clear second-elect while Lotsa Life (11) and Sign of Oro (6) are best of the rest.

1/ 2/ 11. $25 gets 2500%
1/ 2/ 6. $10 gets 1000%
1/ 11/ 2. $10 gets 1000%
1/ 2/ 3,9. $5 gets 250%

Race 6
Lierre Noir (3) and Jilliby Master (9) have a fair bit on their rivals here and if the former horse leads early before handing up to the latter as I expect then they will finish one-two for sure. Even if they don’t there’s only a couple who can split then so this looks a great race to play skinny and hard.

3,9/ 3,9/ 10,11. $40 gets 1000%
3,9/ 10,11/ 3,9. $10 gets 250%

The Quads (x3)
6,7,9/ 1,2,3,6,7,8/ 3,9/ 1. $54 gets 150%
6,7,9/ 1,2,3,6,7,8/ 3,9/ 3,4,6,8/ 3,4. $36 gets 50%
6,7,9/ 1,2,3,6,7,8/ 3,9/ 6,8. $10 gets 13.89%
