Good Form Preview - Saturday Night @ HQ

The Game Plan for Tabcorp Park Melton – with Jason Bonnington (@jasonbonnington)

It’s been a profitable week so far without getting over-excited & I’m both hopeful & confident that we can add significantly to the kitty with a decent win tonight. I could have gone further afield with my Best Bets but I didn’t think there was any need as we should get an OK collect with very little risk from the trio outlined below while the three Money Races are al fairly aggressive without really entertaining many possible pitfalls. I’ve gone wild on the Quads but if you’ve got a limited balance it’s probably Ok to have Birdy Mach one-out in the first leg and cop it on the chin if he gets rolled.

Best Bets/ All-Up ($50 Win)

Allies Mate (Race 3 no. 7) $1.90

This bloke is unbeaten from two runs and while he did shock by saluting on debut his last start win completely franked that triumph and even with the outside-front-line draw I tend to think that he can just bully forward and grind his rivals into submission here tonight.

Birdy Mach (Race 5 no. 2) $1.50

Based on his two wins from as many starts to date only a significant mid-race error (which he’s already shown he’s prone to) could get this guy beaten here for mine. Team McCarthy have a huge opinion and with his brilliant gate speed the race should be his to lose.

Smudge Bromac (Race 9 no. 7) $1.60

These Claiming races are almost put on as a benefit for this bloke and tonight should be no different, particularly as this race is even weaker than many of the $50K Claimers staged in this state. He’ll be short but he’ll be winning.

The Money Races

Race 3 (Flexi Trifectas for $70)

I’m willing to put all my eggs in one basket with Allies Mate (7) here and with Nikkis Delight (2) the second best horse and likely leader she must be the clear Silver medal tip. Base all your thoughts around those two horses and we should come away with some sort of result.

7/ 2/ 1. $25 gets 2500%

7/ 2/ 10. $10 gets 1000%

7/ 2/ 4,5,9,11,12. $20 gets 400%

7/ 1/ 2. $10 gets 1000%

7/ 10/ 2. $5 gets 500%

Race 5 (Flexi Trifectas for $60)

Birdy Mach (2) will only have to do everything right in transit here to lead and win and given the lack of likely pressure the peg-line horses should follow him home tonight. The key to multiples will come at the start because if Burnaholeinmypocket (1) holds the leader’s back then he should certainly run second but if Kept Under Wraps (3) gets that spot the race does change complexion.

2/ 1/ 3,8. $40 gets 2000%

2/ 3/ 1. $10 gets 1000%

2/ 3/ 8. $5 gets 500%

2/ 1/ 6,10. $5 gets 250%

Race 8 (Flexi Trifectas for $60)

Bettor Rock On (5) and Almost El Eagle (9) came into this series as the two big guns and neither did anything to change the status Quo by winning their respective heats last Friday night. With that in mind I think they’ll both feature on the podium and both in prominent roles while the race is wide open outside of them.

5/ 9/ 1,2,6,8,10,11. $30 gets 500%

5/ 1,2,6,8,10,11/ 9. $15 gets 250%

9/ 5/ 1,2,6,8,10,11. $15 gets 250%

OctoQuads (x8 for $160)

2/ 6,9,10,12/ 8,9/ 5. $48 gets 600%

2/ 6,9,10,12/ 8,9/ 2,9. $40 gets 250%

2/ 6,9,10,12/ 2,4/ 5. $20 gets 250%

2/ 6,9,10,12/ 2,4/ 2,9. $8 gets 50%

1,3,8/ 6,9,10,12/ 8,9/ 5. $24 gets 100%

1,3,8/ 6,9,10,12/ 8,9/ 2,9. $12 gets 25%

1,3,8/ 6,9,10,12/ 2,4/ 5. $6 gets 25%

1,3,8/ 6,9,10,12/ 2,4/ 2,9. $2 gets 4.17%
